HP and SYSCOM Leading the Way Revolutionary Efficiency in Core Banking Systems Introducing NCBS — NonStop Core Banking System

[2012/10/15] Taiwan's financial industry is highly competitive with attention on system stability and flexibility but also is showing an eagerness to reduce time-to-market as a way to attract more business to its financial products.

For years, HP banking solutions have led the industry in Taiwan. Now, HP predicts there is still significant expansion yet to come. Today HP, along with SYSCOM, is announcing the availability of the new NonStop Core Banking System (NCBS) for HP NonStop servers. This allows companies in the banking business to create new financial products for customers in just a few days, compared to what originally took several months.

A friendly user interface allows customers using NCBS to respond very quickly to changing market requirements. The NCBS design is modular and uses parameters to achieve customized financial products that can be launched quickly to meet time-to-market needs. This approach improves management performance and service quality while reducing business costs.

HP Taiwan's Chairman, Jon Wang, provided some background and said, “HP, having been in Taiwan for many years, has seen many industries grow. HP understands Taiwan's industrial trends and we are working with these industries to create a new era of increased competitiveness.” Wang offered an example, “taking the local banking industry as an example, time and again too much time and money are devoted to system authentication and integration when developing and launching new financial products. For an industry where efficiency is so important, this situation is far from perfect. Having worked on the III AllianceOne project to develop Taiwan's software and information service in overseas markets, this year HP selected SYSCOM as the best partner to continue developing and cooperating on the new NonStop Core Banking System (NCBS). This not only shows HP dedication but also our efforts to help Taiwan's industries increase opportunities in global markets.”

SYSCOM is one of Taiwan's major system integrators and for many years has been devoted to developing IT services and applications and improving software quality management. SYSCOM is the only company in Taiwan having passed the highest CMMI level, Dev 2.0 maturity level 5. Additionally, SYSCOM has served the banking industry for many years so our expertise in this industry is significant. About working and partnering with HP, SYSCOM President James Liu said, “We have been an HP NonStop product distributor for over 20 years and during this time have accumulated the most complete NonStop system development and technical support experience in Taiwan. By choosing SYSCOM as their new NCBS partner, HP is demonstrating their trust. Further, HP is recognizing SYSCOM's profound domain knowledge and professional software development capabilities not to mention our experience with their NonStop systems.” Liu added that, “the new NCBS is fully compliant with all of Taiwan's financial regulations and will help our banking industry quickly integrate with global markets. The HP/SYSCOM cooperation benefits Taiwan's financial industry as much as it does the IT industry.”
